Qigong can best be translated as “Breath Work.” Various forms of qigong exist, and some stretch as far back as 2146 BCE! Qigong has been a method of health preservation and improvement among masters of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts and Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. Many of China’s most famous generals included some form of Qigong in their armies’ training routines to upkeep their health and wellbeing!
With the rise of meditation practices in our modern times, scientists are finding more and more evidence that suggest practices like Qigong can aid in a number of ailments and maladies. When practiced regularly, Qigong’s benefits can include: Stress and Anxiety Reduction, Mood Improvement, More Restful Sleep, and Improved Brain Function.
Qigong can be as complex as a dance, or as simple as standing with proper posture; luckily, we specialize in both! Through a series of simple movements, students can be sure that they are making every breath work toward improving their health.
